We are a local family-owned business bringing our authentic bagel recipe to Gainesville. With the use of a New York WaterMaker, we are able to replicate authentic New York water mixed into every bagel. Bagels are made on-site from scratch and are boiled and baked fresh every single morning. We apologize for any wait times our customers experience as we are currently located in a tiny brick and mortar shop. We hope you can stop in sometime soon.

Yesterday, I went to Luke's new location for the first time and had a great time. My friends and I all got lunch with our youth leader and we really enjoyed our time. I loved my asiago bagel with the sun-dried tomato cream cheese. I have seen reviews of people saying that they feel the couple dollars extra for cream cheese is over priced, but I really don't mind because its specialty and it doesn't make my meal much more. I live really close and I've always been told I live dangerously close to Sonic, but I really think its "I live dangerously close to Luke's Bagels". I had a really wonderful time and this may end up being my friend group's new spot :).

My experience here was surprisingly disappointing. Ever since I moved to Gainesville, I’ve heard nothing but raving reviews about Luke’s, so when they opened this location close to me, I had to try. Without sugar coating, they just did not have their shit together. At about 10:30 a.m., they were out of over half the bagels on the menu. (Side note, for sandwiches, the price does not include the price of the bagel. This has probably always been the way they’ve done this but I think it’s weird to upcharge for the bagel. Despite the flavor adjustments, charging for the bagel itself is odd.) The service itself didn’t take long but when I got my bagel it was luke warm, even though it had been toasted. The egg was not warm either. I was expecting the bagel itself to be top quality, but it was not. The bread was chewy. Not worth the $14. And lastly, there were flies everywhere. They were landing not only on my fresh food, but the leftovers of other tables that hadn’t been picked up yet. That speaks for itself. I really want to give this place grace considering they just opened but they really need to rethink the vibe in there. It was very uninviting.

Workers seemed distracted and somewhat apathetic. The food taste was decent, but the bagels were burnt when I asked for toasted (see pics with black spots), so all you can taste is burnt onions on their everything bagel. The coffee was horrendously sour and under extracted. They had old Stevia packets that were seized inside the paper, and no half-and-half or milk because it was “frozen”. No trash next to the coffee station which itself felt like a forgotten afterthought placed randomly on a counter with no trash nearby for stir sticks or sugar packets. Genuinely one of the worst coffees I’ve ever paid for. I promise McDonald’s and dunkin coffee is better. I NEVER leave reviews, let alone poor reviews, on any restaurant, but this was such a disappointment. And at $30 for two bagels and three coffees, I feel like I need to say something! I don’t know if they’ve moved locations recently and they’re having trouble with the switch, but the quality of everything, atmosphere, food, coffee, and service, have got to pick up. It was really bad. I’ve never thrown food away but the bagels are in the garbage tasting like literal burnt coal, and the coffee is down the drain. Making another coff

I was super excited to try the spot, but my bagel was super burnt, and the cheese was very gooey, and tasted like low quality ingredients, other than the bagel which was burnt. Very disappointing for it to be a $7.50 dollars sandwich..

Was told I had to visit this long time Gainesville establishment as there is much lore for it. We came right before closed (because we tried earlier on Monday but they are closed on Mondays) so they were out of most bagels, bacon, hash browns, and certain cream cheese flavors. However probably because we came so late, we were one of like 3 people ordering. The wait seemed a little longer than needed for 3 bagels with cream cheese but it is what it is. Was looking forward to trying one of their famous sandwiches but with the bacon being out and them not doing deli anymore (despite it still being in the menu) we kept it simple. The poppy had tons of poppyseeds without being super messy so that was a win. The bagels are large and texture could be good but maybe was a little too chewy for me. Can get pricey depending on what you order. Might try again but not sure.
